City of Moreno Valley wins Financial Awards

The City of Moreno Valley has been awarded the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting
and financial reporting for its FY 2015/16 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This marks the 19th
consecutive time City has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from
the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada ... View more (GFOA). The City
was also honored with GFOA’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for
its popular annual financial report (PAFR). The City has earned this distinction every year since it began
publishing the PAFR in in 2014.

The City’s CAFR and PAFR were judged by impartial panels to have met the high standards of the programs.
The City’s publications were honored as a result of their ability to clearly communicate the City’s fiscal
picture and motivate members of the public to learn more. Moreno Valley was recently ranked the third
most fiscally strong City in the nation by the Fiscal Times, and has a balanced budget for the sixth straight
year.

Purchasing & Facilities

Installation of the Automatic Security Gates at City Hall

The Facilities Division is 75 % complete on the installation of the fencing and
automatic security gates for the City vehicle parking area at City Hall. When
finished, this expanded area will allow for safe after hours storage of city
vehicles. City staff necessitating access to this area will be required to have
the round Salto sticker programmed for entry. The Salto sticker is the one
inch diameter sticker placed on the back of your ID badge. If you do not
have this item, and need access to the City vehicle parking area, please have
your Division Manger request this item from the Facilities Division

Library Upgrade

The Facilities Group recently worked with the City’s painting contractor to paint parts of the Library. This
new design and upgrade will provide the Library with a new modern look and design element.
