• The Riverside County Education Academy held its parent orientation with 500 guests
• Westech College held its summer graduation with more than 500 in attendance
• Crossword Church hosted a Community Forum to bring the community together. There was a panel
discussion with distinguished community leaders including the City of Moreno Valley’s Chief of Police
and the Superintendent of the Moreno Valley Unified School District.
• The State of City was held on August 25th with more than 300 guests in attendance

In addition to church services and various meetings in September, the following notable rentals were held at
the Conference and Recreation Center.

• The Riverside County Probation Department held its graduation ceremony for their officers. The room
was set for over 300 guests and well attended by their friends and relatives.
• The Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Business Expo.
• The Riverside County Office of Education held its bi-annual Management Leadership Team Meeting for
about 234 guests.
• The Riverside County Office of Education provided two days of training for school counselors to aid the
students in their quest for college education funds.
• The Moreno Valley Unified School District hosted its 6th annual College and Career Day to help their
students prepare for the future.
• The United States Postal Service held its third annual awards meeting. The theme for the event was
sports and their employees donned their favorite jerseys and enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and two
tables of sports-related snacks.
• The Riverside County Community Partners’ Forum was hosted by Children’s Services Division,
Probation Department and HOPE Collaborative. This year’s theme was “Improving Child Safety
Through Partnership” with attendance of 264 and 16 resource tables.
• The Riverside County Office of Education held a regional conference addressing the issue of chronic
absenteeism for more than 300 guests. The theme was aligning conditions of learning, outcomes, and
engagement for all students.

In addition to church services and various meetings in September, the following notable rentals were held at
the Conference and Recreation Center.

• The Riverside County Office of Education held a training meeting for 130 guests.
• Amazon rented the Grand Valley Ballroom for five days in October during their hiring process to secure
employees for the upcoming season. Each day lasted 12 hours, and there was a radio station on site
to promote the event.
• Tyra Educational Services hosted an out of state college fair for local high school students. Some of the
booths represented colleges from Europe as well as the United States.
• The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Expo in the ballroom. It included
a pet adoption program and a portable planetarium from the March Field Air Museum on the stage for
the children.
• The Hispanic Association of Small Business held its Business Expo, which included entertainment and
dinner.
• The Career Care Institute hosted its Licensed Vocational Nurse graduation with 300 guests in
attendance.
• The Riverside University Health System Medical Center hosted its 10th Annual Trauma Conference.
This two-day conference provided valuable information and experiences from community emergency
organizations to help coordinate functions of emergency service providers and the trauma centers.
