Divisions Championships was held September 8th while the Coed Division Championships were held
on September 25th.
• The fall Adult Softball League began on September 29th for the Men’s Divisions and October 2nd for
the Coed Divisions.
• Team MoVal started practicing their skills to compete in the Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament. The
players representing Team MoVal were selected through a vigorous two-day tryout. The tournament
will take place October 15th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The City of Moreno Valley will be hosting the
tournament in the gym at the Conference and Recreation Center. This tournament will feature the
cities of Chino, Riverside, Menifee, Perris, Rialto, and Moreno Valley
• The Pee Wee and Junior Basketball League concluded on October 20th, and the youth received their
participation awards at the end of the season banquets on October 24th and October 25th.
• The Pee Wee and Junior Multiple Sports Clinic began on November 2nd. The youth will participate in
a three-week clinic learning the basic fundamentals of t-ball, soccer, and basketball. This program will
take place in two locations: March Field Park and the Conference and Recreation Center.
• The Winter Youth Basketball League skills day will be held on November 12th starting at 9 a.m. More
than 200 participants will be tested to create teams for three separate divisions. League play will begin
the week of January 9th. This program is geared towards learning basic skills, exercise and a lot of fun.

Senior Community Center

• The seniors enjoyed playing Family Feud on August 25th. There were three teams of five seniors on
each team. This game continues to grow each month and is sponsored by Humana.
• Other senior programs offered during September included the Senior Scam Stopper Skit on September
15th, Mature Driving Class on September 15th and 16th, Mexican Independence Day Celebration on
September 16th, and the Fall Festival on September 22nd, sponsored by South Bay Health Insurance.
• The Senior Community Center held its quarterly swap meet on September 2nd. There were 28 vendors
selling their items the seniors.
• On September 15th, the “Stop Senior Scam” performance was held with actors from Los Angles to
teach the seniors how to prevent themselves and friends from being scammed. There were 55 seniors
in attendance. This event was sponsored by Humana.
• The Mature Driving Class was held on September 15th and September 16th. By attending the two-day
class, thirty seniors were able to qualify for lower car insurance prices.
• The Center held its second annual Mexican Independence Day celebration on September 16th. Seniors
were treated to a live performance from the Ballet Folkloric Class and contract class instructor Roberto
Ramos entertained the audience with his guitar. Jose’s Mexican Restaurant donated 100 bags of chips
and salsa. The seniors were served taquitos, beans and rice with homemade salsa.
• The annual Fall Festival was held on September 22nd at the Center. The seniors enjoyed popcorn and
tea while they watched a movie.
• On October 20th, Assembly member Jose Medina sponsored for the seniors a free Pancake Breakfast
where approximately 75 seniors in attended. Assembly member Medina spoke with the seniors about
the Cal Fresh program and current legislation impacting the community.
• On October 20th, the Morning Rotary Club hosted its annual Spaghetti Dinner for 100 seniors. In
addition to providing an excellent meal, the Rotary Club raffled off prizes for the seniors.
• The Senior Community Center hosed the annual Scary Movie Marathon on October 31st, which was
sponsored by True Connect. The seniors watched scary movies all day while snacking on nachos and
popcorn.
