City of Moreno Valley Accepting Military Appreciation Banner and Paver Applications

Deadline is October 11 to be Included in Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Moreno Valley encourages residents to submit applications for Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers by October 11 to ensure that they are installed in time for the City's Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11.

The City installs Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers to honor local military personnel, both those serving currently and veterans, and promote patriotism and pride throughout our community.

The Military Appreciation Banner program is partially sponsored by the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee. As a result of its contribution, the total cost remaining for a banner to be designed and installed on a City streetlight pole is $150. The banner nominee must be currently serving in the U.S. military.  

The Veterans Military Program Pavers are located around the Memorial on the Moreno Valley Civic Center Plaza and are inscribed with the names of military veterans and active-duty service personnel and their branch of service. Cost is $200 each. 

"We are fortunate to have so many veterans and military families in our community," explained Dr. Yxstian A. Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "We take great pride in their service to our nation and feel a deep sense of gratitude to each of them."
