Conference and Recreation Center Rentals
In addition to church services and various meetings in June, the following notable rentals were held at the
Conference and Recreation Center.
Siatech Charter School hosted its 2017 graduation with over 500 in attendance.
The Moreno Valley High School ASB hosted its 2017 Student Reflections. Parents and students enjoyed
musical performances and highlights of the student body throughout the year.
Sigma Beta XI Inc. hosted its graduation of their sons of “Westside Rites of Passage.” This event included
dancers, poetry, a video presentation, and dinner.
The Riverside County Education Academy hosted a graduation ceremony with over 400 in attendance.
The Moreno Valley Wind Symphony performed traditional patriotic June concert titled “Sweet Land of
Liberty.” Guest vocalist Robbie Britt with his deep bass- baritone voice was accompanied by the
symphony in several selections including “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless the USA.” Mr. Britt is a
world renowned performer and is always excited to return and share his talents with his favorite Wind
Symphony and the Moreno Valley community. This free performance is provided to the community in
cooperation with the City of Moreno Valley.
Riverside University Health Systems and First 5 Riverside hosted a Town Hall Meeting on “Adverse
Childhood Experiences.” Gabriella Grant, Director of California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed
Care, was the keynote speaker. Among the topics for discussion were Building Resiliency Throughout the
Life Span and Adverse Community Experiences and Resilience.
The Jamil Dada Character Excellence Youth Awards Ceremony was hosted by the Riverside County
Economic Development Agency and the Riverside County Workforce Development Board. Awards and
scholarships were presented to the students from the Youth Opportunity Centers throughout the county
that overcame adversity and challenges to achieve their goals for careers and college after high school.
The Riverside National Cemetery hosted its Volunteer Awards Banquet honoring the countless hours and
dedication by its volunteers.
The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted the “Taste of the Valley” with 26 restaurants and
wineries showing off a taste of their signature products. This social event provides residents and busi-
nesses an opportunity enjoy a relaxing evening in the Grand Valley Ballroom and outside on the patio
under the trees.
The VA Loma Linda Hospital hosted its Volunteer Awards Banquet providing lunch, door prizes and many
well-deserved awards for their volunteers.
