On October 2 and October 6 38 Amazon employees with the Moreno Valley Fulfillment Center ONT 6
participated in a “Paint Party” at the Animal Shelter during after-hours. Amazon employees primed and
painted areas throughout the main kennels and along the east kennel wall that leads into the small dog breed
room and cattery. The Amazon employees also successfully collected and donated a variety of products
including pet toys, pet food, cat litter, towels & blankets. Amazon is a community partner with the City of
Moreno Valley and this event was Amazon’s way to allow their associates to give back to the community. A
huge “Thank You” to both Stacy Frazee, Amazon’s General Manager’s Assistant and Stephanie Grainger who
coordinated this successful event. Pictured below are the Amazon employees sprucing up the kennels and
trying to keep the paint off each other! Several pets also found a life-long loving home with an Amazon
employee.

Purchasing & Facilities Division
The Purchasing & Facilities Division has recently made some changes to staffing. Angelic Davis, formerly of
Public Works, Capital Projects, has accepted the position of Purchasing & Facilities Management Analyst,
replacing Launa Jimenez. Angelic will be working with both groups, Purchasing & Facilities, handling city-wide
contracting, bidding, and facilities contract management. Due to Alice Rod’s recent retirement, we have
hired a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to maximize our customer service response. Mr. Joe Huhn was the
successful candidate for the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Joe, recently of JDH Construction, has over 20
years of facility construction experience. Joe has a broad background in building maintenance practices in
every trade and will be a valued asset to the division.
The Purchasing Division has been working closely with the Moreno Valley Utility to process RFP and Bid
documents for the Kitching and Karma Sub-Stations. This work has produced 24 RFP and Bid processes that
have been placed in the Planet Bids system for award. This highly technical work brings about many
questions. Purchasing staff works closely with MVU staff to answer these questions in order to finalize the
bidding process.
