as a whole had a 5.8% increase
over prior year mainly due to the -5.00%
increase in current and other FY 19/20 FY 20/21 FY 21/22 FY 22/23 FY 23/24
assets.

Accounting for 69.3% of the City’s net position is its net investment in capital assets (e.g. land, buildings, machinery, and
equipment). The City uses these capital assets to provide services to residents; consequently, these assets are not available for
future spending. Although the City’s net investment in its capital assets is reported net of related debt, it should be noted that
the resources needed to repay this debt must be provided from other sources, since capital assets themselves cannot be used
to liquidate the liabilities.
