My MoVal Mural Project

The City of Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department is a proud recipient of grant funding from Creative Corps Inland SoCal for the My MoVal Mural Project. This project is for the design and installation of four murals across the city; one in each district. The anticipated impact of this project is to increase community engagement by providing a space for residents to come together.

About the Project

  • Artists must reside in Riverside or San Bernardino Counties
  • Artists cannot be a direct or indirect grant recipient earning $1,000 or more of 2023 Creative Corps Inland SoCal (CCISC) funding
  • $15,000 available for each mural installation — which includes all materials
  • Artists may select one or all locations for consideration
  • Mural designs to illustrate the following community messages:
    • District 1: Public Health/Pandemic Recovery
    • District 2: Water & Energy Conversation and/or Disaster Preparedness & Recovery
    • District 3: Social Justice & Community Engagement
    • District 4: Water & Energy Conversation and/or Disaster Preparedness & Recovery

Mural Proposal Process

  • Step 1 – Fill out and submit the application by December 6, 2023.
  • Step 2 – Staff receives and reviews application and contacts artists.
  • Step 3 – Arts Commission reviews the application and proposals.
  • Step 4 – Proposals recommended by the Arts Commission will be sent to the City Council for consideration. 
  • Step 5 – If selected, complete & submit the required documents
    - New Vendor Form
    - Proof of City Business License
    - Insurance documentation
    - Artist Public Art Maintenance Agreement
  • Step 6 – Complete mural installations by May 31, 2024.
