MVTV-3 takes
three awards at SCAN NATOA
Moreno Valley's government access cable television channel, MVTV-3, took
three Third Place prizes at this year’s awards competition for the
States of California and Nevada chapter of the National Association of
Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (SCAN NATOA).
MVTV-3 won in the following categories:
Public Service Announcement: "Community Emergency Response Team"
A 30-second video public service announcement encouraging local residents
to join the citizens team that assists emergency responders with first
aid and CPR during major disasters
Public Safety: "Identity Theft"
A 15-minute video about the crime of identity theft, how to avoid becoming
a victim and what to do if your identity is stolen
Documentary-Social: "March Field Museum"
A 20-minute documentary on the museum at March Air Reserve Base that houses
vintage wartime aircraft
First Place prizes in these categories went to the City of Beverly Hills,
the City of San Jose and the County of San Diego, respectively.
“We’re pleased to get these awards,” said Moreno Valley
production coordinator Steve Jacobs. “We were up against some very
major competition and it’s great to receive this recognition,”
he said.
SCAN NATOA is a professional organization of government access cable television
managers, programmers and producers, cable television franchise administrators
and their legal and technical advisors.
The awards were presented at the SCAN NATOA annual conference in Santa
Monica on Thursday, May 20.
