City’s TV station shines in “Silver Circle”
at 2006 3CMA Awards
Award is MVTV-3’s 11th national level recognition
The City of Moreno Valley won a “Silver Circle” Award for its “How Your Tax Dollars are Spent” video produced by MVTV-3. The second-place prize was presented on Thursday night by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association
(3-CMA) at its annual national conference in Irving, Texas.
“We are delighted to receive this award,” said City spokeswoman Angela Rushen. “Typically, Moreno Valley is up against cities that have much larger budgets than MVTV-3. The fact that we’re able to achieve this level of recognition with fewer resources says very good things about our team,” she said.
“Our goal with this video was to help viewers better understand how the taxes they pay are used to help fund City services, said Steve Jacobs, Moreno Valley’s Production Coordinator. “Based on the feedback we’ve received from our viewers and the 3CMA judges, we reached our goal,” he said. Colleagues from another state asked to use Moreno Valley’s video script to help craft a similar video for their own city, Jacobs said. “Of course, we said yes,” he said.
The MVTV-3 production staff includes: Louis Rocha, Rob Roseen, Dominic Durden, Rod Labuni, Brian Oliver, Jacobs and Rushen.
The award will be presented to the City Council at a future Council meeting.
