Broadband Planning
The City of Moreno Valley is developing a plan to expand access to robust broadband for MoVal’s businesses stakeholders and community anchors
The purpose of this phase of the project is to analyze the City’s opportunities to provide Gigabit broadband and wireless services to organizations with a need for more reliable, affordable broadband internet.
The current phase of the project includes:
- Business and Operations Analysis to determine appropriate uses for the City’s fiber-optic and related assets, relying on valuable real-world examples of how other successful municipalities that have enabled world class broadband service.
- Inventory of existing systems and service availability to understand the current broadband environment.
- Needs assessment & outreach including an online broadband survey and workshops to engage stakeholders about their needs.
- A high level network design that leverages existing assets and supports the needs of the City and the community that will use the network.
- A financial and cost/benefit analysis to ensure that Moreno Valley has a full understanding of the business and financial sustainability of the program
